Here is a border with two versions. The first is a single layer svg that can be cut with either version of SCAL. The second is a layered svg for use with SCAL2. The original artwork for this border was from clker.com. I cleaned it up for cutting and made it into the borders.

I recommend the SCAL forum for general help with SCAL or Inkscape. There are a lot of sites that have excellent information and tutorials, Scrapping Table has some good beginner info and Clever Someday has a list of Inkscape tutorials for converting images to vector arranged by image type.
