A good cause

Coca-Cola  is going to donate money to three US parks.  These three parks will be decided by online voting.  A park in Joplin, Missouri is one of the top three.  This area was devastated by a tornado in May and is still being rebuilt.  If you haven’t seen the damage, take a look at these photos.

Here is part of an e-mail that was forwarded:

“There is a park (Cunningham Park) in Joplin, MO, that I enjoyed as a child on many occasions because it was close to my Grandparents’ house. In later years, it was the site of several Lamb reunions, and I have pictures taken there. The park, which is across the street from St. John’s Hospital, was leveled in May in the tornado and must take a back seat for rebuilding after homes and businesses. Coca-cola is donating sums of money to help build or rebuild parks based on votes cast. Many people in Joplin cannot get to a computer, so we’re hoping you will take a moment of time and cast your vote. You can vote each time you sit down to use your computer. This would be a lovely way for Joplin to take that poor vast wasteland that used to be a lovely park and give it a new life – and not cost us any money!”

This is something nice we can help with by simply voting for this park.  Cunningham Park is currently in third place and will receive a grant if they stay in 3rd, but wouldn’t it be nice if we could help them get more money?  Here is a direct link to Cunningham Park’s voting page.  http://m.livepositively.com/park_details.jsp?parkId=11656  You can vote as many times as you want in a day.  Voting goes through September 6.
